Job Summary:This position reports to the Laboratory Manager of the Clinical Chemistry Laboratory. Duties include performance of both manual and automated procedures in Automated Chemistry. In addition, duties will include specimen accessioning, processing, aliquoting, quality control, instrument maintenance, and communication with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff. Applicants may also be trained in any area of Special Chemistry and Biochemical Disease Detection and are required to perform duties with minimal supervision.
Job Requirements:Bachelor’s degree required. MT (ASCP), MLS (ASCP), or equivalent or eligible is required. Experience in the Clinical Chemistry lab is preferred. Ability to use and familiarity with, Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) is preferable. Ability to communicate in an effective and professional manner with hospital staff and coworkers is required. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills are required. Must have the ability to multi-task, problem solve, and work as a member of a diverse team.
