Project Manager – Madison, CT
$80K - $100K
Our client, a rapidly growing software company, has an immediate opening for a Project Manager. The Project Management team has the responsibility of providing excellence in the quality and reliability of its products, providing a systematic approach designed to provide guaranteed performance to established requirements throughout the product’s life cycle.
The Project Manager is responsible for managing projects associated with the company’s growing lifecycle and implementation process, development and implementation and project portfolio. The Project Manager will be accountable for the management of multiple concurrent medium to large sized and moderately complex projects, and will manage project efforts end-to-end with respect to costs, analysis, design, development, testing, documentation, and implementation of customer applications.
Responsibilities include:
Lead the planning and implementation of project
Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables
Develop detailed project plans
Manage project resource allocation
Plan and schedule project timelines, and sequence activities to meet delivery dates
Monitor and control project deliverables using appropriate tools
Provide direction and support to project team and prioritize demands
Develop communication strategy with stakeholders and establish communication plan
Monitor and report on progress, problems and solutions of the project to all stakeholders
Manages project risk through comprehensive mitigation assessment and planning techniques
Effectively assists in directing both internal and external resources to achieve business solutions within project guidelines, and manage timelines
Collaborates and communicates with other project managers and leaders to coordinate cross-project initiatives and activities
Suggest and implement modifications to project scope, deliverables, timelines and resources
Qualifications:
Four year degree or equivalent experience
Minimum of 4-8 years progressive experience in Project Management implementing Software applications solutions
Possess high-level knowledge and proficiency in project management methodologies and tools, resource management practices, and change management techniques
Qualification in project management or equivalent
Direct work experience in project management capacity
Proven experience in people management, strategic planning, risk management, change management
Proficient in project management software
Demonstrated strong analytical, organizational and technical skills
Demonstrated medium to expert level knowledge of MS Project or SmartSheet
Demonstrated strong working knowledge of MS Office 2010 Applications; including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio
Demonstrated strong leadership skills with an ability to drive to delivery without compromising requirements
Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills
Additional “Nice to haves”:
PMI-PMP certification, Six Sigma certification(s), Agile Scrum Master certification
Knowledge of CMM and Six Sigma Methodologies and Standards
Experience with alternative lifecycle models; Agile, Scrum and XP
