          Responsibilities
          The Associate Engineer – System Performance is responsible for collecting and using hourly and daily service measurement data to optimize the network and reduce lost calls and ineffective attempts; creating new cell site translations and neighbor lists in support of regional build program activity; and supporting System Performance and RF Engineers in evaluating and improving areas of poor coverage by identifying system performance problems (dropped calls, static, interference). Other responsibilities include: reporting problems to appropriate engineers; resolving customer service issues; and assisting in implementing solutions; collecting drive test data in support of performance evaluations and build program prioritization; troubleshooting and resolving customer complaints and trouble tickets; creating maps for network optimization and planning; and conducting special engineering studies (PLMs, RF Call Trace).

          Troubleshoots and resolves customer complaints and trouble tickets.
          Creates maps for network optimization and planning.
          Conducts special engineering studies (PLM’s, RF Call Trace).
          The Associate Engineer - System Performance will also share responsibilites for a sector of VZW's network for all technologies: 3G1X, 3G EVDO, LTE.
          Qualifications
          BS in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent work experience required
          0-1 year of experience in the cellular or telecommunications’ industry
          General understanding and or working knowledge in one or more of the following platforms and/or technologies:

          System Performance including: RF System Optimization techniques for voice and data for Nortel, Motorola, and/or Lucent infrastructure

          System Design including: AMPS, CDMA, CDPD, 3G

          Voice cells infrastructure including: Lucent, Motorola, Nortel, CDMA data

          Telecom experience including: T1, DACS, OMP

          Voice switch infrastructure including: Lucent 5E and ECP, Motorola MGX, and Nortel MTX

          Digital Communications including: DS1, DS3, Fiber, ISDN

          Operating systems and applications including: UNIX, Windows, MS Office

          Wireless data service including: CDPD, CDMA, CSD, STP, RF Fingerprinting

          Analog, CDMA, Flexent Modular cells (CDMA & PCS), RMT software, and 3G technology

          Test equipment including: T-Birds, Drive Collection, pilot scanners, baseline equipment, spectrum analyzers
          Wireless Communications knowledge a plus. LTE, CDMA, and EVDO recommended.

          TCP/IP and Network Interconnections knowledge also a Plus.
          Proficient in office computer applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access

          Good analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
